Creamy Mediterranean-inspired whipped feta cheese blended with savory seasonings for a perfect dip that’s ready in just a few minutes.
I made this simple dip over the weekend and it was a big hit. Everyone loved it and it was scarfed up in the blink of an eye.
It was a wonderful addition to my antipasto platter. I was able to make it hours ahead of serving time, which made it super convenient. I’ll definitely be adding it to my Buffalo Bills tailgating in the coming weeks.
Is It a Dip or Spread?
The answer is…both!
While my guests and I enjoyed this amazing dip as an appetizer over the weekend, I first enjoyed it as a sandwich spread. It was incredible inside my chicken bacon ranch wrap. I simply swapped out the ranch for this whipped feta cheese dip and oh my goodness, it was delish!
The whipped feta will also work so well on top of little toasts for a great snack or even spoon a dollop on top of your favorite soup – it would be incredible with this roasted tomato and fennel soup.
So you see, this is a very versatile recipe. And since feta is full of protein, is low in fat, and even works as a probiotic, there’s plenty of great reasons to give it a try.

Whipped Feta Cheese Dip
Fresh feta is a crumbly and slightly creamy cheese that comes packed in brine. It has a rich, tangy and salty flavor.
Ingredients:
room temperature feta cheese
sour cream
lemon juice
lemon zest
olive oil
garlic clove
thyme
oregano
dill
salt & pepper
Feta cheese blends much easier at room temperature, so remember to remove it from the refrigerator at least 30 minutes before preparing this recipe.
In your blender or food processor, combine the feta, sour cream, lemon juice, lemon zest, olive oil, garlic, and all the spices. Mix on high until creamy and smooth.
It might be necessary to add a small amount of water, a little at a time, to the mixture until the desired consistency is reached.
Season with salt & pepper, as desired, then use the pulse setting to work it in.
That’s it! How easy was that? Now just transfer it to a serving bowl to serve alongside your favorite veggies or crackers for dipping. Or, slather it onto a sandwich or wrap as a delicious spread.
Store your leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 5 days.
